Meet Sassy
Sassy wasn't just created for a children's book—she was a real rescue squirrel.
After being found alone and needing help, Sassy became part of our family and quickly stole our hearts. Her adventurous personality inspired the Adventures of Sassy & Friends book series, bringing her story to life for children everywhere.
Inspired by the wildlife along Florida's beautiful St. Johns River, each story teaches lessons about friendship, kindness, courage, and helping others.
Meet Angie & Matt
Adventures of Sassy & Friends was created by Angie and Matt Barnthouse, a husband-and-wife team living along the beautiful St. Johns River in Florida.

What began with the rescue of a tiny squirrel named Sassy quickly grew into a shared passion for wildlife, storytelling, and helping others appreciate nature.

Angie brings Sassy's adventures to life through storytelling and children's books, while Matt captures real-life moments through photos, videos, and daily social media updates.

Together, they have rescued wildlife, documented remarkable journeys, and shared those experiences with thousands of followers online.
